Jabarry Goodridge, a 2017 NJIT graduate and two-time AVCA All-American selection, has joined the NJIT women's volleyball coaching staff in January 2018 as an assistant coach head coach

A four-year starter for the men's volleyball program, Goodridge, from Bridgetown, Barbados, compiled 1,259 kills, averaging 3.98 per set, along with 104 service aces, 366 digs, 122 blocks and 1,450 total points.
"I am excited to add Jabarry to the NJIT Women's Volleyball staff," Volkert added. "His international experience as well as being the best player in the EIVA for two seasons and an All-American has been great example for volleyball players at NJIT. Adding to that, his love for NJIT and his passion for coaching – it was an easy decision to bring him on board."
Goodridge earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American second-team as a senior, after becoming NJIT's first Division I-II player to claim AVCA All-American honors as a junior on the second-team.
He was selected 2017 Uvaldo Acosta Memorial Player of the Year in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA), leading the conference in overall kills (407), service aces (0.50) and ranked third in hitting percentage (.329). Goodridge ranked second in the nation in kills per set (4.43) and points per set (5.15).
"I am thrilled about the opportunity to be a part of something I am so passionate about and I am eager to learn from the experience of the staff here at NJIT," Goodridge added. Â "As a former athlete of NJIT, I am very excited for what's in store for this program and I look forward to working with these young ladies to make our presence known in the ASUN Conference."
A member of the Barbados Men's National Team, Goodridge coached for the Women's Junior National Program in Barbados and currently is the head coach of u17 Atlantic Valley Volleyball Club (AVVC).
Goodridge will continue to pursue his MBA in Management & Information Systems at NJIT.
