NEWARK, NJ - The NJIT women's volleyball team was defeated by visiting Binghamton in America East Conference action on Sunday afternoon at the Wellness and Events Center.
The Bearcats took the first set 25-22, before winning the second and third sets 25-17 and 25-20, respectively, to clinch the three-set victory.
Elley Torres led the Highlanders offense on Sunday, recording 13 kills on a .310 hitting percentage in 29 attempts.
Adriana Goetz-Morales added nine kills, while
Courtney Branch sent down six of her own in just 11 attempts.
Juliana Impaglia handled the setting duties for NJIT and dished out 29 assists in the three-set match.
Doga Emil's 15 digs were a team-high, while Branch, the America East leader in total blocks, finished with a team-best three blocks, including a solo block.
The Highlanders return to the court on Friday when they wrap up their three-match homestand vs. UMBC. First serve in the America East Conference match is slated for 7pm back in the Wellness and Events Center.Â
