LEWISBURG, PA – NJIT women's volleyball opened their 2018 season at the Bucknell Tournament on Friday with a loss to the host team 3-0.
Iva Mandic lead her team with eight kills and two blocks, while freshman
Udo Nwosu and senior
Jovana Baosic each tallied five kills.
Freshman
Marina Markaki posted a team-leading three blocks and four kills, while setter
Liz Benson made 20 assists and four kills.
Adriana Nieto tied a game-high 10 digs will Bucknell's Alexa Bonanno, with Bonanno also grabbing a game-high 27 assists.
Blake Buchholz and Sophie Holland each posted a game-high nine kills for the Bison, while Mimi Richards boasted five blocks.
Bucknell took the first two sets by eight and nine points respectively 25-17 and 25-16.
The third set was the closest set, tied 23-23 before the Bison got two kills by Buchholz to end the set 25-23.
NJIT will continue to play in the Bucknell Tournament tomorrow, with matches against Youngstown State at 10:30am and Saint Peter's at 3pm.
