BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – The NJIT women's volleyball team defeated host of the Terrier Classic, St. Francis Brooklyn 3-1 on Saturday morning with help from
Iva Mandic and her match-high 17 kills.
The Highlanders (2-3) were led by Mandic who earned 17 kills in her second consecutive game, while
Madi Busler produced 13 and
Tess Albyn 10.
Junior Mandic also led NJIT in blocks with three, and
Adrianne Bynoe added three as well.

Emily Krachenfels tallied a match-high 42 assists and a match-high 14 digs. Krachenfels also added three aces, as did teammate
Olivia Welsch.
The Terriers (2-4) were led by Aleksandra Gligoric (13k), Ally Speweik (12k) and Vanja Miljacic (11k).
The first set NJIT took 25-20, taking the lead after a back and forth set. After a kill and service ace by Krachenfels to give them the 20-18 lead, the Highlanders took a four point lead they would never let go with an error by the Terriers and another kill by Bynoe.
St. Francis Brooklyn took the next set to tie the game at 1-1, 25-21. The Terriers battled back after being down by two, 14-12 scoring four consecutive points to secure their win.
In the third the Highlanders got two kills from Mandic to give them a 21-18 lead that they wouldn't relinquish, winning 25-20.
In the final set NJIT had a commanding 22-15 lead, but the Terriers fought back for the final 25-21 score.
The Highlanders conclude the Terrier Classic Saturday for a 2pm game against UMass Lowell.
