EL PASO, TX - Oral Roberts University women's volleyball team scored a 3-0 win over New Jersey Institute of Technology in the opening round of the 2008 Sun Bowl Volleyball Invitational, Friday night.

The Golden Eagles' senior, Jenete Ferreira, led a (25-12, 28-26, 25-14) win with a match-high 14 kills. Jackie Oliveira followed with 12 kills of her own while teammate Thais Parada notched a match-high 33 assists. Middle blocker Jocelyn Swier recorded five block assists.

For NJIT, senior Agniezka Pregowska tallied a team-high six kills and two block assists while teammates Kristy Haeckel and Baaba Hughes recorded five kills apiece.

Freshman Renata Pandolfo, making her first collegiate appearance, tallied three kills, three block assists and 12 digs. Senior setter Danielle Thompson recorded 14 assists and five digs.

Junior libero Sabrina Baby notched a team-high 13 digs and connected on two service aces. Hughes added eight digs.

The Highlanders will face host UTEP Saturday at Noon and wrap up play against Butler at 5pm (MT).
