2023: Competed in all eight meets in 2024. ... ran a 6K season best at the 2023 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals with a time of 22:51.6. ...placed 45th at the America East Championships.

2022: Ran in all seven of NJIT's meets and finished as NJIT's top performer in every meet...set 5K (18:41.0, NJIT Highlander Challenge, Oct. 8; sixth place) and 6K (22:41.9, Paul Short, Sept. 30; school record) personal bests during the season

2021: Competed in four meets...finished in the top 50 at the Fordham Fiasco (47th, 22:50.8) 5K on September 11...placed 83rd at the 2021 America East Championships (20:17.9) on October 29. 

2020: Placed 75th in NJIT's first-ever America East Championships on Mar. 5 (21:45.56)...Season played in Spring 2021 due to COVID-19.

Prior to NJIT: Competed at Parsippany for head coach Briane DeGironimo...Captain of the girls cross country team in 2019...Placed 3rd in the North Jersey Group 2 Sectional Championships in the 5k in 2019...Placed 6th in the North Jersey Group 2 Sectional Championships in the 3200 meter in 2020...four-year varsity letter winner...three-time First Team All-Conference and All-Academic award recipient. 

Personal: Katherine Castano-Villar...daughter of Mariella Villar and Luis Castano...intends to major in Business with concentration in Accounting.
