2023 NJIT WOMEN'S SOCCER BY THE NUMBERS (AS OF 10/29/2023)
  • 3 & 5: This will be the third straight America East Tournament appearance and fifth conference tourney berth for the Highlanders under eighth year head coach Ally Nick. NJIT went to back-to-back ASUN Tournament in 2018-19 and have now reached the America East playoffs in three of their first four seasons in the conference (since July 2020). The last time the Highlanders played in at least three straight league tournaments, NJIT competed in four consecutive Great West Conference tourneys from 2009-12.
  • 25 & 13: Number of goals and different goals scorers in 2023 | Most team goals since 2018 (27) and most goal scorers since 2022 (14)/
  • 2019: A win for the Highlanders would be the program's first-ever victory in the America East Tournament and the program's first conference tournament win since their 2-1 comeback win over Liberty in the 2019 ASUN Conference quarterfinals.
  • 4: Number of America East weekly honorees NJIT has produced this season: Briana Andreoli - Offensive POTW (October 23), Merle Hueser - Rookie of the Week (September 11), Maria Nogueira - Offensive POTW (September 5), and Gabby Zalot - Offensive POTW (August 21). Since joining the America East in July 2020, NJIT has earned 16 AE weekly awards (Offensive - 6 | Defensive - 5 | Rookie - 5).
  • 2018: NJIT"s 7-6-5 overall record in 2023 is the program's first in a regular season since 2018, when the Highlanders went 11-4-2 before playoffs. NJIT was also adept at responding to adversity and garnering results this year, not losing back-to-back games at any point this season. This marks the first time since 2018 that the program was able to accomplish this feat. Since a road loss at Binghamton on September 29, 2022, NJIT has gone 25 matches (24 regular season, 1 playoff) without losing two games in a row.
  • 2022: Chant's PK in the 3-0 win over LIU on August 31 was  NJIT's first since October 27, 2022, when former Highlander Siani Magruder's game winner at Bryant capped off a two-goal comeback and helped NJIT clinch a place in last year's America East tournament.
  • 11: Career goals for Bailey Chant - most among active Highlanders third all-time in NJIT Division I era (since 2006; Fiona Wright - 15, Kori Washington - 12).
  • 9: Career goals for Briana Andreoli - includes team-best 6 this season, most since Fiona Wright's 11 in 2018. Her next goal would bring her into double digits and make her the sixth in the DI era to score ten or more times, joining Wright, Washington, Chant, Carly Berdan (10) and Gechi Ukaegbu (10). Andreoli also leads NJIT with 15 points this year after adding three assists.
  • 6: Single-game school record for points in a game for Gabby Zalot (2 G, 2 A) in NJIT's record-tying 7-0 shutout win over Saint Peter's on August 20. Zalot set the NJIT mark after never scoring a collegiate goal and registering one assist in 34 previous games between NJIT and Valparaiso.
  • 7: Points Madison Taibl has recorded so far this season (3 G, 1 A; fifth on team) after not logging one in 42 matches and four years prior to 2023. Taibl went 357 days between having her 2022 season ended early (August 25) and making her return in this year's season opener on August 17.
  • 9: Career-high save tally for Samantha Constantine at Vermont on October 22. In her first season as the full-time starter in goal (1395 minutes so far), Constantine has posted a 7-6-4 record across 18 matches with a 1.23 GAA, 50 saves, and a .725 save percentage.
  • 29: NJIT fielded an active roster of 29 during the 2023 campaign: 21 returners (including 2022 AE All-Championship selection Ciara Adams, 2022 AE All-Rookie honoree Riley Jones, 2021 AE All-Rookie selection Caroline Caputo, and veteran captains Emma Bitar and Madison Taibl), seven freshmen and one grad transfer.

  • 54-60-22: Ally Nick's career W-L-D record entering Monday
