NEWARK, N.J. — The NJIT women's tennis team picked up its second straight victory on Saturday afternoon, sweeping in-state foe Seton Hall 7-0 at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
The Highlanders (8-6) were able to take care of business against a shorthanded Seton Hall squad (5-10) that was down to five players. Advaita Saravanan picked up wins at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles with Shalom Salvi as a result and NJIT took the doubles point with a win at No. 1 (Aya El Sayed/Joleta Budiman).
NJIT had the match clinched after forcing Seton Hall retirements at the top two singles flights and set the final margin with straight set wins at Nos. 3 and 4 and a three-set rally at No. 5.
OTHER NOTES
The sweep was the Highlanders' third of the spring and fourth overall this season.
