NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT men's soccer team returns home for a pair of matches this week, first hosting Hartford on Tuesday, October 18 to conclude the non-conference slate.

All-Time Series
The all-time series is set at 1-1-1 with Hartford leading pre-Division I 1-0-1 while NJIT picked up its first victory over the Hawks, last season, 2-0, on November 1, 2021.
Last Time Out
No. 12 Vermont scored a late goal in the first half and added three second half goals to push past visiting NJIT, 4-0, Saturday evening in America East Conference men's soccer action at Virtue Field.
Vermont, which entered Saturday's match with the nation's longest win streak, has now won 10 consecutive, improving to 11-1-1, 4-0-0 in the America East
Scouting the Highlanders
NJIT has collected wins against James Madison, La Salle and Sacred Heart while tying Drexel, Rider, UMass Lowell and Binghamton and dropped decisions at Big East foes UConn and Villanova, Iona from the MAAC, three-time defending America East Conference regular season champions New Hampshire and No. 12 Vermont.
Prior to the New Hampshire goal in the second half on October 8, NJIT set a new Division I program record scoreless streak with a time of 407:25. NJIT entered the match unbeaten in the last four, registering three ties (Rider, UMass Lowell, Binghamton) and a victory against Sacred Heart).
Goncalo Franco leads the Highlanders attack with three goals followed by Asembo Augo and Jose Del Valle with two goals apiece while freshman Maximus Barboto, who has earned America East Conference Rookie of the Week twice this season thus far, is the son of head coach Fernando Barboto. He ranks fourth in the America East with four assists.
Senior co-captain Samuel Reisgys has played in every match in goal for the Highlanders this season, posting a 1.57 goals-against average and a .705 saves percentage. His 224 career saves tops the record books in the NJIT All-Time Division I era.
Scouting Hartford
Hartford, who will be transitioning to Division III over the next several years, is still in search of its first victory of the 2022 season, entering Tuesday's match with an 0-11 overall record.
