Corry Named America East Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player Of The Week

NEWARK, N.J. --- NJIT men's lacrosse sophomore midfielder Owen Corry has been named the America East Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday morning.

Corry had a banner day for the Highlanders in the program's first-ever conference win over UMass Lowel on March 27, leading all players with a career-high seven points (5 G, 2 A). Corry's five goals tied teammate Gavyn Willson (Hampton, Feb. 1, 2020) and former Highlander Aaron Forster (No. 5 Rutgers, Mar. 17, 2017) for the third-highest goal scoring performance in NJIT history and his seven points matched alum Ryan Callaghan's effort (3 G, 4 A; at Hampton, April 15, 2017) for fourth-most in Highlander history.

The award is the first-ever for NJIT since joining the America East in July 2020.

This week's other America East awards were won by Teddy Dolan of Binghamton (Defensive) and Dylan Pallonetti of Stony Brook (Rookie).

Corry and the Highlanders will complete its two-game road swing with the second half of its home-and-home with Binghamton on Saturday, April 3. Game time is currently scheduled for 1 p.m.
