KANSAS CITY, MO--The NJIT men's soccer team has been honored by the United Soccer Coaches (USC) with its annual USC Team Academic Awards for the 2019-20 academic year.
This is the fifth season (2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020) the Highlanders earn the recognition.
NJIT was one of 333 men's programs recognized for the team academic award.
In December, Rene White was selected to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region first-team and Scholar All-America second-team, holding a 3.54 GPA.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
The College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2019-20 academic year.
