NEWARK. N.J. --- Jacob Leigh and Miku Okada each picked ASUN Track and Field weekly awards for the Highlander Track and Field programs, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

Leigh was named both the Men's Indoor Field Athlete and Freshman of the Week while Okada was tabbed as the Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Leigh posted three individual top-10 finishes at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartan Invitational on January 10. The newcomer was second in the 60 meters (7.05), fourth in the 200 meters (22.54), and tenth in the High Jump (1.83m). Leigh's high jump mark is currently third overall on the ASUN performance list.

Okada won her second High Jump competition in three meets at the Spartan Invitational, taking the event with a leap of 1.60m. Her mark also currently stands as the third-best performance on the ASUN list this season.

Leigh, Okada, and the Highlanders return to action this weekend at a pair of meets: the Ramapo Invite at the Armory in Manhattan and the Gotham Cup at Ocean Breeze on Staten Island.

Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Miku Okada, NJIT
Junior | River Edge, N.J.
- First Career Field Athlete of the Week honor; first-ever for NJIT.
- Took first in the High Jump at Friday's St. Thomas Aquinas Invitational with a height of 1.60m.
- Now holds the third-best mark for the High Jump in the ASUN this season after her second win of the year.
- With her win, she topped competitors from Ithaca, Wagner, Rider and Marist.
- The Highlanders return to action this weekend at the Ramapo Invite and the Gotham Cup.
