ATLANTA, Ga. --- Sophomore goalkeeper Molly Saylor has earned the first ASUN Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award of the season, the league announced Monday afternoon. 

A native of South Park, Pa., Saylor picked up her first-ever ASUN weekly honor after stellar play in the first two starts of her career. In the season opener against UMBC on August 22, Saylor made three saves and worked with the Highlander defense to shut out the Retrievers in a weather-shortened 103:13 of action.

Her outstanding play continued on Sunday at Maryland, playing another 103-plus minutes and making seven saves - including a critical one at point-blank range in the first overtime - before the host Terrapins escaped with the victory in the 104th minute.

Overall, Saylor ended the weekend with a 0.43 goals against average, a .909 save percentage, one shutout and ten saves in 207:09 of playing time.

Saylor and the Highlanders will return to action on Thursday, August 29 at 7 p.m. against La Salle before returning home to host Saint Peter's on Saturday, August 31 at 1 p.m.
