NEWARK, NJ—After picking up the teams' first win of the 2017 season Friday night against Seton Hall, the Highlanders returned to action on Saturday evening, dropping a 4-0 decision against visiting Akron at the The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
The score is the result, which calls for incomplete individual matches to be halted as soon as one team achieves the points necessary to clinch a victory.
The point for doubles is won as soon as one team wins two of the slots and the entire match is over as soon as one team wins four points overall.
The closest match of the day came at third singles, as senior
Nathalie Habegger battled out a three-set tilt, coming up short, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 against Akron's Karalim Maksimavo.
NJIT will return to action on February 25 when the Highlanders host Providence at 2pm.
