Mamadou Guirassy captured the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Golden Boot Award for total goals for the 2017 season, according to statistics posted on the official NCAA website.
Guirassy remained atop the total goals category all season and became assured as the Golden Boot Award winner with completion of November 4 men's soccer regular season competition.
The Highlanders co-captain, closed out his collegiate career as NJIT's Division I all-time leading scorer, selected as 2017 ASUN Conference Player of the Year and finished atop the NCAA Division I men's soccer statistics for total goals (16).
His 16 goals and 34 points are an NJIT Division I record single season record. For his career at NJIT, his 26 goals ranks first in the Division I era and tied for fifth all-time while his 58 points ranks first in the D1 era and eighth all-time.
The senior forward led the ASUN in total goals (16), total points (33), game-winning goals (5), goals per game (0.94), points per game (2.00) and total shots (89).
He was named ASUN Conference Player of the Week three times this season (10/16), (9/11) and (9/5), including being honored National Team of the Week by College Soccer News (9/12), TopDrawerSoccer Honorable Mention (9/12).
Guirassy scored a pair of goals in four matches and scored at least one goal in 12 out of 19 matches for the Highlanders. He combined for two goals and an assist in a 3-0 win against St. Francis Brooklyn (9/9).
