NEW ORLEANS—The Sun Belt Conference recognized eight more NJIT men's soccer players for their academic achievements in 2014-15, Keith Nunez Assistant Director of Communications announced.
The eight latest honored Highlanders, were named to the Sun Belt Conference Honor Roll after nine other Highlanders were honored on the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's 2014-15 All-Academic List.
Student-athletes named for the Sun Belt Honor Roll must attain a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the 2014-15 academic year.
Highlanders on the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll (minimum 3.0 GPA; listed alphabetically, with the individual's class listed as year of eligibility in the 2014 season):
Matija Blazic, senior, MF, communications major, Koper, Slovenia/Koper
The senior appeared in 12 matches. He scored his only goal of the season in the Highlanders 5-0 senior day victory over Howard.
Tom Farrell, sophomore, MF, communications, West Keansburg, NJ/St. John Vianney
Played in one match before suffering season-ending injury.
Jack Flanagan, freshman, MF, civil engineering, Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel
Victor Kausch, sophomore, D, business, Berlin, Germany/BBS
Appeared in 17 games, with 14 starts. Kaush recorded one goal and two assists.
Jack Lee, freshman, F, biology, Bensalem, PA / Bensalem
Eugene Listwan, junior, D, business, Rockaway, NJ/Morris
Appeared in all of the Highlanders 19 games, with 15 starts.
Jonathan Onyeaka, sophomore, D, chemical engineering, Solihull, England / The Sixth Form College
Appeared in 14 games and started in 12. First collegiate goal was as a game-winner against LIU Brooklyn on September 17 in the Highlanders 3-1 win.
Tommy Osipitan, junior, F, biomedical engineering, Albany, NY / Colonie Central
Appeared in 17 matches, recording two goals.
