EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ—Visiting NJIT dropped a 7-0 decision at Rutgers Friday afternoon.
Rutgers (3-2) swept the doubles competition and took all six singles contests in straight sets, cruising to a 7-0 win.
The NJIT duo of
Carolina Zanotta and
Nathalie Habegger fell 8-2 decision at first doubles, while teammates Alba Rosa Garcia and
Ines Vujkovac lost by 8-2 at the second spot.
Valerie Carroll and
Tiffany Barnes dropped an 8-1 decision at third doubles.
Zanotta played the closest match of the day for NJIT at first singles, but she lost to Gina Li of Rutgers, 7-5, 6-3.
NJIT will return to action on February 27 when the Highlanders host Seton Hall at 6pm in The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
