Women’s Tennis Finishes 4-0 in Florida; Notches 10th Straight Win

ORLANDO, FL—The NJIT women's tennis team wrapped up its 2012 Spring Break Trip with a convincing 6-1 victory over Bucknell Thursday.
 
The Highlanders, who went 4-0 in Florida, posted its 10th straight victory of the season improving to 14-2 on the season.
 
Highlanders' duo Nina Mayevska and Jana Luste defeated Bucknell's (2-6) Daria Tuzhikova and Demi Lepuras, 8-5, at first doubles.  Luste was a straight set winner at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-0.
 
Sophomore Ksenia Kuzmenko and Hannelore MacDonald were 8-1 winners at second doubles.  Kuzmenko earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at first singles over Bucknell's Lepuras.
 
At third doubles, NJIT' Monika Graff and Carolina Zanotta topped the Bison's Courtney Casey and Alyssa McAndrew, 8-2.  Graff won in straight sets at third singles, 6-1, 6-2 while Zanotta won by identical scores at the fifth spot, 6-1, 6-1.
 
Sophomore Martina Tripcovici posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory at sixth singles for the Highlanders.
 
NJIT, who is 8-0 on the season at home at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility, will close out the home portion of its schedule on Sunday, March 25 at Noon.  The Highlanders will host Saint Joseph's.
