BOGOTA, NJ – Howard edged the NJIT women's tennis team, 4-3, Saturday evening at Bogota Racquet Club.

Junior Nina Mayevska and Isha Toor teamed to win first doubles, 9-8(2), and Toor also won 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles.

NJIT's Ana Lidon was one of three Highlander single winners, prevailing in the third spot, 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 while Dasa Stanimirovic won at sixth singles 5-4, retired.

First and third singles won by Howard were very close as Michelle Brown edged Mayevska 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 and Michele Gee slipped past Fanny Aizier, 3-6, 6-0, 6-2.

The Highlanders will return to action this weekend at the Dayton Invitational.  Friday NJIT will face Robert Morris at 10:00am and Lipscomb in the evening at 5:30pm.  Saturday the women will face host Dayton at 11:00am.
