NEWARK, NJ--Junior guard Damon Lynn has been selected First Team All-Conference, as the Atlantic Sun announced its postseason honors and awards on Monday. Lynn, who was a preseason All-Atlantic Sun selection, becomes the first Highlander to receive postseason honors since NJIT joined the conference.

Lynn finished the regular season ranked fifth in the league in scoring at 18.1 points per game -- the highest single-season scoring average in NJIT's Division-I history (he also holds both the second and third highest totals from his sophomore and freshman seasons, respectively). In addition, the Hillside, N.J., native led the A-Sun in steals per game (1.7) while ranking eighth in assists per game (3.3).

Known for his three-point marksmanship, Lynn placed second in the conference in both three-pointers made (98) and three-pointers per game (3.2) -- categories in which he places seventh and 15th in national Division-I rankings, respectively. Since his freshman season, no player in the nation has drained more treys than Lynn (331). He is also the nation's active career leader in three-pointers per game (3.6) while sitting 16th in career scoring average (17.6).

The 5-foot-11 guard has again surpassed 500 points this season, becoming the first Highlander all-time to score at least 500 points in three consecutive seasons (no other NJIT player has ever accomplished the feat in consecutive campaigns). His 1,620 career points rank seventh all-time at NJIT (all levels since 1922) and second behind Chris Flores '13 (1,724) in the D-I era. Additionally, he is on pace to break the school record of 2,028 points held by Clarence Pierce '96, who played exclusively in the D-III era.

In another memorable season, Lynn has led the Highlanders in scoring in 16 games while pacing NJIT in steals in 16 contests and in assists 10 times. He has scored at least 20 points in 13 games and 30 points twice. In one of those games, he scored a season-high 32 points in NJIT's win at St. John's on Dec. 20 -- the program's first-ever victory against a BIG EAST opponent -- en route to earning A-Sun Player of the Week honors on Dec. 21. He set a conference season-high with six steals in a D-I game against UMBC on Jan. 2 and also recorded his first career double-double at Stetson on Jan. 16 (15 points, 10 rebounds).

A warrior on the court, Lynn has never missed a game in his career and ranks seventh in total minutes played in D-I this season. He logged all 45 minutes in both Highlanders overtime games this season while notching a complete 40 minutes in 10 others.

Last season, the communication major was an Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention.

Lynn and the Highlanders (17-13, 8-6) are back in action on Tuesday night to host Stetson University (10-21, 4-10) in the Quarterfinals of the A-Sun Conference Tournament at Fleisher Athletic Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available by visiting www.NJITtix.com.
