RIVERDALE, NY—The NJIT men's track and field team, which was scheduled to compete at the CTC Championships at Wesleyan University was cancelled due to the blizzard but the Highlanders traveled to Manhattan College for a tri-meet against Saint Peter's and Manhattan.

The meet served as NJIT's final tune-up before next weekend Great West Conference Championships which will be held on February 23-24 at Houston Baptist University.

The Highlanders John Porteous tied the NJIT school record in the 60 meter hurdles previously held by Morgan Atkins, with a time of 8.37, good for second place.  Porteous also took second in the men's 500 meter run with a time of 69.90

Teammate Scott Rizzo captured the men's 3000 meter run with a time of 9:17.77 while Moheb Thomas took first in the men's 800 meter run at 1:58.80.

Jonathan Daudelin earned first in the men's mile run with a time of 4:42.11 while Louis Scheideler placed second in the men's 1000 meter run with a time of 2:53.43.
