Women's Tennis Defeats Bryant, 6-1

TENAFLY, NJ – The NJIT women’s tennis team raised its overall record to 2-1 with a convincing 6-1 win over visiting Bryant Saturday evening.
The Highlanders won five out of six singles contests and swept the doubles competition en route to its second win of the season.
Nina Mayevska and Isha Toor teamed for a 8-1 win at first doubles defeating Bryant’s Claudio Hidalgo and Chelsea Downing. Hidalgo notched the only point for the Bulldogs taking a three-set tilt from the Highlanders at first singles. Toor was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at fourth singles.
Anine Lovdal and Ana Lidon recorded a 8-6 win at second doubles while both Highlanders picked up points at second and third singles. Fanny Aizier and Dasa Stanimirovic claimed an 8-3 win at third doubles. Aizier won by identical scores 6-2, 6-2 at fifth singles while Stanimirovic won 6-3, 6-1 at the sixth spot.
The Highlanders will have a quick turnaround and travel to Hofstra on Sunday.
