Montclair State Rolls Past Highlanders

MONTCLAIR, NJ – The NJIT men’s and women’s swimming teams traveled to Montclair State Wednesday evening and competed in a dual meet at Panzer Pool.

 

Sophomore Rachael Abadie picked up an individual victory in the 100 butterfly as she clocked in at (1:06.46) and recorded a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle at (2:12.41) while captain Teresa Higgins added a fifth-place finish.

 

Freshman Kelsey Johnson took third in the 50 freestyle (29.16) and fourth in the 100 freestyle (1:05.9).  Classmate Liliette Graca was fifth in the 50 freestyle (34.22).

 

Shawn Bryan, who is coming off a strong performance at Siena on Sunday, finished second in the 50 freestyle (29.16) and third in the 100 freestyle (51.37) for the Highlanders.

 

Sophomore Andrew Helbers was fourth in the 200 freestyle (2:02.89) and following in behind were teammate’s Matthew Negron and captain Pablo Botero.

 

The Highlanders will wrap up the home portion of its schedule and host SUNY Maritime on Monday, January 25 at 6pm in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.
